Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated by Members of Parliament from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during a key parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, in recognition of the success of Operation Sindoor.
The meeting, held at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi, saw thunderous applause and chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ celebrating both Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.
Key leaders present at the meeting included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, along with other NDA MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
This high-level gathering took place amid a continuing deadlock in Parliament, with the opposition demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, and calling for the exercise to be scrapped.
Due to opposition protests, the Lok Sabha was unable to take up the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025 for discussion.
Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc leaders also met at 10 AM at the Parliament Library Building, in the office of the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha. Following the meeting, MPs from the alliance staged a protest at Makar Dwar, under the slogan ‘Our vote, our right, our fight’, opposing the Bihar electoral roll revision.
Tuesday’s Lok Sabha proceedings began with obituary references for former MPs Tilakdhari Prasad Singh, Ram Rati Bind, and Shibu Soren.
As per the Lok Sabha Secretariat’s List of Business, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is scheduled to move amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, and also present the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 for consideration and passage.
